Spiritual Thought Sunday: Free Printable

This week was a hard one personally. I felt very homesick, in particular to be around english speaking people... and I found myself wondering where the future is going to take me. Life has already taken me on a roller coaster ride just in the 24 years I have been living it, so who knows where I will be in 5, 10, 15 years. This quote helped me today because I can't control the future and in my particular situation there is only so much of the here and now I can control. I do however have a dream. Sometimes it gets me down that others don't understand my dreams, or why they are important to me... but I shouldn't be suprised really because they can't see what I see or feel what I feel. A dream is personal. A dream in unique to each and every one of us. My dreams will lead me somwhere different to everyone else I know, but they will lead me to a place which is right for me.I have a dream of the things I would like from the future. I have a dream with my Husband of the hopes and goals we have together. I know that I can work with him to make those dreams come true, and that no matter what twists or turns may be ahead of which we don't know about, our dreams are still our own and no one can take them away from us. Changes in my life will always happen, but only I can change my dreams. I also know that if I work hard enough I can make those dreams come true.

Feature Time!

As always, I am totally excited to share with you all the top 5 featured projects from last weeks party. Here they are....

(For the top 5 recipes please see Yummy Thursday's Post)

I have to say though.... this was a really tough choice because I could have easily picked more than 5 projects. You guys totally impressed me last week. At the end of the day these are just my own personal favourites... so be sure to check out last weeks party to find your own favourites! :-)

Rhinestone Beagle made this fab little Snack Baggie! It is re-usable and totally cute. I think this would be perfect for little snacks and goodies to take with you when you are out and about... plus you can use any fabric you like and make it totally fun and personal! A great idea.

Simply Sara made a post of several fun ideas but my favourite by far is this Cupcake Picture Frame! I just love it. So stylish and fun. I can totally imagine this in my pink kitchen... I think I might have to make one myself.

Krafty Kat made my jaw drop with her Faux Chocolate Egg Tree! I honestly thought they were real chocolate eggs until I read the post carefully. A fab easter idea... and a great trick to play on the Hubby I think. lol. Definately something I need to try out. A fun thrifty idea for all!

Nancy's Couture wowed me with her adorable Skittles Dress. I think this is just totally cute and if I had a little girl I would totally be making one myself. Simple, fun, and cute. Her tutorial is awesome too so it is really an easy to copy project. Check it out!

Finally I just fell in love with this DIY Book Wreath from Born Again Crafter. A really humble project which makes a big impact. It totally matches the Humble Homemaking idea of making something beautiful out of something cheap and simple. I love it!

Yummy Thursday: Cream Cheese Brownies

Welcome to another Yummy Thursday!

(Please note: I am NO cooking expert. I play around in my kitchen and half the time something works and half the time it doesn't. The point is I appreciate food in a big way and just want to share that love with you. If you are looking for new Betty Crocker or Jamie Oliver style recipes... this is not your place to look. This is a place for just loving family friendly food.)

Wednesday's Wonder: Wood You Like To Craft - Entrance Sign

So this month I joined the awesome new blog Wood You Like To Craft! It is run by 4 fantastic bloggers with the aim of giving a monthly woodwork project for people to follow along and make... and then to share in a link-up party!
wood you like to craft?

This month the project was hosted by Under My Umberella, a blog I have loved for some time! I was totally excited to join in... I have never worked with wood before and thought this would be a great way to push myself to give it a go and learn how. The first project was to come up with your own variation of this beautiful sign.

So with a drumroll........
Here is my First Ever attempt at cutting out wood and using mod podge!!!

Homemaking Monday: Getting Started

So I decided to change the nature of Homemaking Monday a bit to broaden the ideas and articles you can find here. Homemaking Monday now is going to be a space for discussing homemaking related topics. I want Humble Homemaking to be a community.... Somewhere Humble Homemakers the world over can relax together. So please jump on in and comment your ideas and input on our weekly subject.

So todays topic is: Getting Started.

Spiritual Thought Sunday: Free Printable

I hope you all have been having a wonderful weekend and that hopefully the weather is warm, sunny and you are able to have tons of fun!

I love this quote. Another great reminder of our awesome potential to achieve great things. Great things can be as simple as creating a beautiful home. Something I know most of us work hard at ;-). So have a great weekend and don't forget that you can do amazing things if you put your mind to it. We all have that power within us.

Take care! Happy Sunday.

(As always, feel free to save and use this free printable if you wish. I love to share! If you post it on your blog please give proper credit back to Humble Homemaking. Thanks!)
