About Me

I am the Humble Homemaker! Welcome to my humble blog. I am so excited to have you here! I am a married homemaker who comes from England (although I now live in Germany with my wonderful German husband) and am a lover of all things crafty, edible and fun! I have a little home and a little budget, but a LOT of blessings to be grateful for.

I am passionate about homemaking, and extra passionate about being able to create a beautiful heaven on earth without a lot of money or great talent.

Trying to keep a home whilst my husband completes his studies has been a learning experience for me. I am constantly inspired by other bloggers creations and ideas... but it is a stuggle sometimes to copy those ideas. I don't own fancy gadgets and I don't have a lovely big home to work with. I live In Germany which also makes it hard at times... many of the projects I see on blogs use things which are very hard or expensive to get here, so I am always trying to find other ways of recreating things I see.

One day I was thinking to myself  'Hey... you can't possibly be the only one in this situation!' and so I decided to make a blog to share my adventure and hopefully be inspired by YOU too!

I believe in the importance of the family and the blessings that come from creating a home of love. One day of course I hope to own that much coveted cutting machine, some awesome stamps and punches and a beautiful House. I know that these sweet times of newlywed budgeting will be over before I know it, but I don't need to wait until later to bless my home right here, and right now... and neither do you!

I have so much more to learn and create, so keep up with my future adventures and help me along the way.

The above video truly illustrates my feelings about our limitless potential to create and make this world a beautiful, wonderful place for ourselves, our families, and everyone else.

  1. Dear Humble Homemaker, I just found your blog and decided to follow. I am also in an inter-cultural marriage (I am Romanian and my husband is Japanese), we actually met while living and studying in Germany. We got married last year and we are currently living in Japan, but might move back to Europe. We are also just starting in life, and I can totally relate to the struggles of studying, finding a job, making a living, while keeping our home cozy and full of love ... on a budget!

Please visit my blog if you feel interested!

    Nice to meet you,
    Sonia

  2. Hallo, I found your blog through a comment you made on Little Birdie Secrets. My mom was the one who did the tutorial on Vanilla sugar. Your blog is cute. My husband and I were married last year (he is german, I am american) and are living in the Frankfurt area. I can understand the feeling of trying to make a nice home in a small apartment on a tiny budget in a foreign country... it can be challenging. There are many blessings as well. Thanks for sharing your ideas - I will be following your blog looking for ideas I can use :)

  3. Hey Humble Homemaking! I hope you are feeling well, I've noticed that you haven't posted anything in a long time. I hope you're not feeling too homesick anymore! Good luck with your German!
