So I want to chronicle my own personal homemaking Adventure. I live in a tiny rented flat, with a tight budget and little opportunity for rennovation. In the winter we get wet walls and mould... in the summer we swelter! But I love it and it is home. Home Improvement is ongoing, and due to our tight budget takes time... but we are loving the challenge. Here are some of my before pictures:
Yep, that is our flat! Not much to it huh? Just a Bedroom, Living Room, Kitchen, Hall and Bathroom.
Last year we were able to save enough to paint and make some homely touches to just the Bedroom, Living Room and Kitchen. This is the current way our little home looks:
Note: In keeping with true Humble Homemaking... All vinyl wall stickers were designed and cut out by HAND (yes even the small words). I spent a total of 5euros on all the vinyl in the flat... and still had letftover vinyl afterwards.
You're doing a great job. Enjoy every minute.
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteLove everything, but the butterflies are the sweetest ever!
ReplyDeleteYou did such a nice job at making your home feel warm and welcoming! I love the paint colors and I can't believe you cut all of your vinyl out by hand. Great job! Everything looks so professional! I'm excited to see your up and coming projects.
ReplyDeleteWay to go cutting all that vinyl by hand! Your flat is adorable, and I love your pink kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and linking to your blog.

I just found you and can I say....fabulous?! I have a family of friends from England my niece lived in Germany for several year. I'm so impressed with what you've done! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteso cute, I love what you are doing and your happy disposition! The poor newly wed days are glorious.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! How in the world do you cut vinyl by hand? What kind of vinyl did you buy, and where? (Blogpost suggestion! :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the simple life that comes with the early days of marriage... The place is coming along great.
ReplyDeleteLove the butterflies and flower! What a fun effect they have. Your use of color is great too. Finally, after 8 years of marriage I live in a home with color on the walls! Before that it was just white, white, white! Too bad we'll be moving (AGAIN) next summer... C'est la vie I suppose. :)

I like the color that you added to your home , by painting and the cute vinyl wall stickers that you handcut! This makes me smile, because it reminds me of my early newlywed days as a sailor's wife, in very simple, and sometimes plain military housing or apartments, but temporary, because we were always getting "shipped out"(transferred). We had very little money, lived on love! But, ya know what? Looking back, 40 years, they really were the happiest days of my life!
