Wednesday's Wonder: Spring Wreath

I am well and truly desperate for Spring to arrive. The Snow has finally melted so I am just praying it doesn't return... and although I am freezing in my flat right now I have turned off the heating to try and encourage the sun to shine and warm things up. I wonder how long before my fingers get so cold I turn the heat back on! :-)

In my bid to bring the spring into bloom I picked this Spring Wreath project for today to cheer me up.

Here is the tutoral....

First I took this christmas wreath which I got for free a couple of years ago.

I removed all the christmassy trims to leave a rustic wooden wreath.

Then I took a bunch of fake flowers which I bought for my wedding reeption decor but never used... so it was a perfect time to use them up! I pulled the actual flowers away from the long stem and was left with the buds and these little wire stems.

Attatching the flowers was a simple job as I just twisted the wire stems around the wooden twigs of the wreath to secure them. I did prick myself once too so I can honestly say I put my sweat and blood into this project!

I kept adding flowers until I was satisfied, and finally added a green ribbon to hang the wreath by.

The end result was a very happy looking wreath which reminded me of springtime flowers coming into bloom and warm sunshine everywhere!

My fingers are still freezing so it didn't make my flat any warmer... but it did make me smile! :-)

Have a wonderful day.

  6. That would have been perfect for my wedding going on 8 years ago. My colors were lavender, blue, and yellow. I used more roses than any other flower. Hmmm...maybe it's time to renew our vows? ;-)
